Role Overview: Kuda, the app-based digital bank, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead and drive product expansion efforts across the African continent. As the Senior Product Manager, you will play a key role in establishing Kuda in new markets, developing valuable products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation. If you are a seasoned product manager with a passion for fintech and a track record of launching products in African markets, this could be your next exciting opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Drive product innovation in African markets, focusing on understanding problem spaces and experimenting with solutions.
- Advocate for the customer, ensuring Kuda’s products effectively address users’ pain points.
- Collaborate with Business Leads, Product Designers, Engineers, Data Analysts, and other Product Managers to align on product direction using qualitative and quantitative data.
- Establish Kuda in target African markets, building relevant business competency, expertise, and relationships with market influencers.
- Identify opportunities in both obvious and non-obvious spaces and drive discovery in complex problem areas.
- Translate learnings into creative solutions and iterative product roadmaps.
- Independently prioritize and execute complex, cross-functional initiatives with no supervision.
- Utilize strong data analysis skills and technical aptitude to understand African payments systems and collaborate effectively with Kuda’s engineering-led organization.
Requirements:
- University Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in product development, with specific experience in product management.
- Experience in launching new products, preferably at a startup within digital commerce or financial services.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
- Ability to independently identify, prioritize, and handle multiple work streams in a dynamic environment.
- Capability to formulate and present analyses and business cases to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of and interest in technology and financial services, with prior experience in fintech or digital payments being a plus.
- Proven track record of driving product innovation and launching products in African markets.
- Understanding of the local market, tech ecosystem, and fluency in the local language.
